‘Back to the Future – Seniors acting as Digital Storyteller Gurus’ is a cooperative European project that aims to develop tools and activities to improve life-long learning opportunities and to build the confidence of elderly for active ageing and socialisation through creating and sharing personal digital stories and exploring the means of social media to stay connected with their peers, families and other generations.

What are our goals?

Encouraging elderly to build their digital skills and to use social media for sharing personal stories and active ageing;
Equipping active elders and elder adult educators with necessary competences on how to create digital personal stories;
Equipping elder adult educators and younger digital generations with knowledge about effective mentorship to seniors;
Encouraging intergenerational learning and an exchange of experience between elder people and younger digital generations.

What are we creating?

PRODUCTS

Social Media Content Creation Learning Programme and Mentorship Tutorials;
Silver Surfer Digital Badges for Digital Storyteller and Digital Mentor;
Back to the Future Digital Portfolio, where seniors can upload and share their digital stories.

ACTIVITIES

Series of Seniorthons (hackathons for seniors) at a local and international level;
Local multiplier events to promote the results and lessons learned.
