The importance of a diversity of teaching-learning approaches, methods and techniques
The use of a variety of teaching and learning methods is essential to respond to the different needs, abilities, learning styles and backgrounds of seniors. Diversity and adaptation are the key words! There is no single approach that works for everyone, so combining methods – such as lectures, debates, practical activities, visual aids, digital tools, group work and individual tasks – ensures more inclusive and effective teaching. This increases the likelihood of understanding the content; participation is encouraged, making learning more dynamic and interesting; different learning styles are taken into account; and critical thinking and active participation are encouraged. In short, diversifying promotes equity and helps create a rich, flexible and empowering learning environment where all learners have the best chance of success.
